Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Some of the trees on Cranleigh Rd are sporting lovely knitted pullovers and beautiful flower boxes.

Does anyone know who's behind them? And can they knit some for the trees on Rowley Rd too, please?

Not sure but my guess is the person who lives at 43 Terront Road. Their front garden is fantastic and it seems that they have decorated the other lampposts and other posts along the street.

But I would like to know 100% because it really adds to the local streets!

Don't think it's Bev - well not the knitting anyway!

He tends to use old decking for his boxes - I'll investigate....

If you know that guy please tell him my wife and I love his work and his front garden!

Will do.

He keeps dreaming up new projects so you never know what might happen next!

Geoff, if Bevin doesn't want to put himself forward for Haringey in Bloom front garden, container garden and for neighbourhood improvement, why don't you take some pics enter him! And/or put in an entry from WPRA with pics of both Cranleigh and Terront street improvements! Sorry can't offer to do it, crap photographer!

Liz and I are already thinking about it!

I met Bevin the other day outside his house and (rather starstruck) told him how much I loved what I did and that he was inspiring me to greater efforts. I make a detour that way especially to see his garden when I go to Downhills Park.

I think that WPRA, GRA and Friends of HP/LRA should all enter the local improvements section of Haringey in Bloom - in friendly competition of course! There are some lovely growing beds on the Ladder, and on the Gardens new crossings!

Nice tree pits too, very impressive! Good on you, anonymous knitter and planter.

It's four families from Cranleigh Rd who clubbed together and made all these flower beds around the trees the weekend before last. Lots of the rest of us are now also watering. The knitting was from various bits of existing unfinished pieces I believe.

The garden at 43 Terront is fab I agree, plus the planted lamp posts along the street. I think it may be his efforts that inspired the Cranleigh residents.

Over to you in Rowley....

Just fab. Well done cranleigh. Really made me smile.

Thanks Ceri!

And please thank the Cranleigh gardeners and knitters.
