Matt. Absolutely agree, if they can navigate the dog s**t in the passage and the multiple road crossings along the way that will then be open to cars.
If I am honest, and forgive me, your son lives on the same road as the park My 7 year old (who has zero road sense at times as he is too wrapped up in the moment) lives 10-15 mins away... So, this freedom to play (relatively) safely is a real boon.
