Its been shut a week now...

Someone mentioned refurbishment but it seems pretty dead both day and night.

Guess some of you are wondering what's going on...well the soul saddening news is we'll be closed for another 2, possibly 3 weeks.
However, it does get better;
We are just refurbishing....so when we're back the kitchen will be brand spanking new, the toilets will never again prevent our natural right to 3mins of blissful solitude smile emoticon ..and..The one we've all been waiting for....We'll never run out of beer again :))...plus some other surprises

And trust us..We'll make up for the music missed with a massive "opening" weekend...
Regular updates will be posted to keep you informed.

Thank you all in advance for being part of, and enjoying our chaotic existence thus far...

Also, will it become wheelchair friendly now i.e. a ramp entrance and with disabled toilet facilities?

Good question - surely any refurbishment nowadays should include adding wheelchair access?

Thanks Liz

Still closed and no evidence of any work going on... Anyone have an update?

Shame as it was my favourite spot in North harringay and was getting a good name for live music.

The "refurb" and "trust us" story always seemed very fishy - you can't do a refurb with the shutters pulled down 24/7

Been past a few times in the past week, started wondering when the post partly-shoved through the letterbox was still partly-shoved several days later.....

Yeah - I noticed that from when they originally shut

All in all I'd think it safe to say Jam in a Jar is no more. Shame, as nothing around here comes close for entertainment & creating that unique buzz.

Wonder if the new people next door had any part in it?

No reason at all to think so. If anything I'd suspect his planning/licensing woes as the straw that broke the camel's back. The last time I spoke with him, he said that he'd been restricted to closing at 10:30 or something crazy. It sounded like it was tied in with historical issues and a number of represenations complaining about noise.
