Not only is this offensive and condescending to women, but offensive and discriminatory against men. I spoke to someone who said he was in charge at the shop and was basically laughed at.
Please can every man who reads this ring them and apply for the job? There's also solicitors a few doors up who will help you sue them.
In all seriousness though, this and the leering and catcalling on the Harringay part of Green Lanes must make it the most sexist street in Britain. It's 2015, about time this was stamped out for good.

Doubt any family of mine would want to work in one of those places.
Then let's forget equality. Surely employers should be open to all gender/sexual orientations and base their recruitment on skills and experience. We will go back to the dark ages without laws. Women would be laughed, leered at and driven back indoors.
I know Lauren. I'm in agreement with you. My reply was to another post in this thread on previous page….
It does get confusing… hard to follow sometime.
Good idea to do something. We could draft a letter which via the Harringay Traders assn. could be distributed to all restaurants, shops etc. Just something short, a 'gentle' reminder about compliane with equality laws and employment And this should also be sent to local MPs,councillors etc.
Lauren, as far as I'm aware it's Rob Chau who looks after the twitter feed. Rob owns Tao Sports at 523 Green Lanes. Pop in and talk to him if you have time. He's very approachable. He may have some ideas about how these issues can be dealt with.
Glad to see someone else has returned to the plight of the gozleme rolling women in the windows. My earlier reference to them yesterday may be a clue to reading my contribution to this discussion. (@lauren, abi, ruth)
