Hornsey Historical Society Book Scores Best History Book of 2024 LAMAS award

In news this week, the Hornsey Historical Society's 2024 publication Abyssinia: Hornsey’s Lost Village was last weekend awarded the LAMAS prize as the Best History Book of 2024.

In a clean sweep, the Society's journal, the Bulletin took the LAMAS prize for the Best Local History Journal of 2024.

There will be more about the awards in next week's Ham and High and the Society's forthcoming members' newsletter.

Both the Bulletin and Abyssinia can be purchased at the Old School House on Tottenham Lane (opening hours under the image at hornseyhistorical.org.uk/how-to-order). Ordinarily, they can also be purchased online at the Society's website, but there seems to be some glitch at the moment where postage prices are incorrect).

It's a great society to be a member of with fascinating regular talks and regular updates about what's going on. Members also get a copy of the Society's glossy award winning Bulletin journal. You can join here.
