How frustrating for you. Sorry to hear about this.

Given the proximate placement of street furniture, I can't see that it would have been caused by a lorry turning in from Wightman. My guess would be that it was caused by a van trying to park on the traffic island on the corner there.

Given that it's happened twice now, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for the council to get involved. Ideally, since it's their road design that caused the problem, they should be paying to fix the problem. Failing that, a request for a concrete or iron bollard on that corner (with perhaps a threat of future legal action which seems to dp the trick in the case of tree root damage).

I know you're not supposed to have security cameras pointed at the public highway. So I couldn't possibly suggest it. But it must be tempting at this point.

Thank you!

sorry to hear about your wall getting it for a second time. hope it works out keep us posted.

I’d echo what Hugh says - twice seems to indicate that physical measures need putting in place (like they have been on the corner of Warham in the pic below)

That’s a very useful comparison, Michael.

I dislike crossing Pemberton at the Wightman junction.  Vehicles often speed around the corner to get through a gap in the southbound traffic flow - wonder if that’s what happened on this occasion.

Also going north coming over the brow of the hill. - if you drive more than 20 mph as some do, there is little time to anticipate the crossing or someone on it...
