Haringey Sports Development Officer, Lucy Peirce, wins London Award

Haringey Council sports development officer Lucy Peirce has won an award for her work in promoting football in the borough.

Lucy, who has been awarded the North London Partner of the Year by the London FA, said,

"Football is a personal passion.

"Although I look after other sports, I spend more time on developing football as it's the largest participation sport in the borough.

"It's a real honour to be given the award."

Local clubs come to Lucy for help with funding, advice on how to expand and how to increase the number of volunteers who can support them.

She was also one of the driving forces behind the borough’s football development plan which was unveiled earlier this year.

Natalie Huntley of the London FA, said:

"This award is well-deserved. Lucy provides invaluable help and support to clubs in Haringey and we’re delighted to show our appreciation for her work."
