Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

... wouldn't like anyone else to have a wasted trip for parking permits etc.  The payment centre closed down on 3rd June. There's a list of shops where you can make payments now up in the window (presumably just for fines.....?) It wasn't clear where you are supposed to go to get things like parking permits but I called the council and was told 48 Station Road though the lady said to make sure you check whether you are in the right queue as you might end up waiting longer than you need to.

A bit frustrating for me but for for one man apparently enraging. While my three year old son and I were standing right next to him he took the chain off his alsation and broke the window of the payment centre with it.   Just as well no-one really upset him.....

Thanks Gillian. I'm sure your post will save lots of frustration. Shame no one at the Council drew this to our attention. I've found a page on it at Haringey's website.
There's also this page with a list of walk in customer services centres (it also lists those that have recently closed).
It says parking permits only by post - thats great if youre organised and if they can guarantee a fast turnaround but what about the last-minute people like me? Last one I got was from my neighbourhood office, much better than having to go to WG, will that still be possible?

Here's a page with how to apply / how to renew sections.

There  are also links to pages where you can:

I can't find a list of the shops anywhere that Gililan saw taped to the door of the closed building. Anyone?

Would have taken a picture of the poster if had not been for the nutter! There was a costcutter and a number of small local shops. I guess those arrangements are aimed at people who don't / can't go online and they assume people that can access the website can do their tasks online. Not really true as however "online" you are there are just some things / times when it is better to do it in person!

To be fair page 19 in the most recent issue of the Haringey People (page attached) is headed thus:

You don't need a parking permit.

A silver Ford parks on Wightman road every day with its bonnet up to signify it has broken down. At first I was puzzled because I understood that Ford reliability had vastly improved in recent years but I guess the owner doesn't have a permit and is hoping that the wardens won't ticket an apparently broken-down vehicle :-)
