If that's what the traffic does, but it doesn't. As well as going Turnpike to Endymion it uses all of the rung roads to cut between GL and Wightman which is why some of the streets carry thousands of vehicles everyday. It was precisely the same with The Gardens. Traffic didn't use Warwick to get to other Gardens roads but to avoid Green Lanes and parts of St Anne's.

Well I hope they replace the bollards with the excellent cycle lane and landscaped planters that they proposed in one of the consultations a while ago. It's similar to the what they have done in Dalston near Butterfield green.

As I understand it, all those years ago, that's the kind of thing The Gardens residents wanted Jayvee. From what I remember it was the local politicians (or politician singular) at the time who came up with, and pressed for, the gating idea.

It was on the cards again in a recent consultation around 2 years ago but came to nothing. It will be good if they do it as it will set a precedent for other roads in the area (Wightman and ladder). The bollards are a bit silly now, it's nearly impossible for new residents to get a working card yet the antipiler van and various mini cabs seem to have them. Also emergency vehicles can't get through, I've seen an ambulance have to reverse and go around

The bollards have not been effectively working for many months. Whether you had a card or not has seemed irrelevant for a long time. When they worked, any resident of the gardens could apply for a card, so not surprising then that some may have been passed on to non-residents. Maybe I should offer mine for sale of ebay, now it is useless.

I am confused. Why is Warwick Gardens so much more a rat race than any other street around here? Whenever there is any congestion on Black Boy Lane, Etherley Road is like a race track. So I'm not clear why WG is so honoured. During the school year
Green Lanes is a parking lot anyway. I would have thought that trying to ease Green Lanes would be more of a priority, rather than closing off perfectly good streets.

I am a disabled badge holder whose car is my independence, so being able to use it in an area I've lived in for 40 years is particularly important for me.
