Generally I thought the fair went well w ith teething problems which I'm sure as it gets more established can be ironed out. There was little advertising for the Tottenham Town Hall performance space - so ultimately no one went in to see young performers - despite disappointment at the attendance it is an easy fix for next year as I'm sure will be the talks tent as no one attended that either - location is key. I think a 'real aie' tent always works too and very sustainable'.The main stage went well with some good quality performers entertaining us. I'm sure there would have been some logistical issues we all could have done differently - but the positives - the weather was good enough and the event was well attended for the first one at that location - I was told 3,000! Thanks for everyone to attending and making it a worthwhile day

Better than I expected with more stalls and things to do. Not a lot of choice of food at all. The Giggly Pig stall could do with a customer focus makeover! great to see Tottenham honey for sale from Living Under One Sky... I will def be visiting their plot on Millmead Road on open days(Thursdays) Wasn't aware of the talk tent as might have checked it out. Was quite aware of the live performers but didn't really want to go inside on such a fine day. Perhaps if there had been more 'yoof' that might have happened. Dr Bike was welcome and busy as always and the provision of bike 'tryouts' good fun and lovely to see so many laughing children. Glad that the performance area kept the volume to a reasonable level so it was pleasant;sometimes loud music can mar this kind of event where people like to chill and chat. The extensive herb stall really encouraged me to have a herb garden! Pretty successful I would say.
"First one at that location"? Nope.
Yes Alan, you're right it's an event that's been running for a few years. I recall my little girl particularly enjoying the 'junk orchestra' pictured here on Tottenham Green in 2008.
Although has it had a bit of a re-branding with the addition of 40:20 to the name? Is it being run by a different group of people at the council?
I think Downhills changed the original date of their Summerfest, so just an unfortunate clash this year.
I wondered about the clash, 2 interesting free events on one (glorious) day was a bit unfortunate. I would have attended but Downhills Park was the local event. Apparently a lot of bands cancelled, (maybe at the Green fair instead?) but still a great selection of music, lovely atmosphere, BBQ by Community Cafe and Redemption providing the ales. Bumped into lots of local friends - all in all a great day out.
I thought it was a nice afternoon and enjoyed playing a set on the green (thank you Peter the soundman) These things can always be better promoted, but that's as true for more established events. Good ideas here for improvement next year, it needs to be bigger & better, but well done to the volunteers who made it happen.
