Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Hairdressers in Green Lanes
Just wanted to let people know that there is a reasonably priced newish (2 months) hairdressers opened up in half of the old Trehantiri site opposite MacDonalds on Green Lanes.
Half the shop is a Polish deli - Polskie Delidatesy.
The other half is Salon fryzjerski. I got my hair cut for £14.00 less than half of what I usually pay in Newington Green. The woman cutting my hair was very good and knew what she was doing.
They are open 7 days a week Mon-Sat. 10.00-19.00, Sundays by appointment only.
And as this is a newish business, I would like it to succeed.

Let me know what you think of it. I thought it very reasonable and people have commented on my haircut which is always a good sign. The two women working there are not very proficient in English, but bear with it as they will cut your hair as you wish. They also have their qualifications up on the wall, so have been trained well.

I always go to Sesame(something like that) which is about in the same place- next to the nut shop
See the young guy there who doesnt speak much english but always gives me a bargain stylish hair cut for £15

Just to add to Louisa's comments, I had to pop out today for an 'emergency' trim and rang up this place as I'd seen Louisa's recommendation. Have to say am pleased with the cut, they are very lovely folk and the price was half what I usually pay. Thanks for the recommendation.

Pleased you liked it Liz. I went there again recently to have my hair cut for a wedding I was going to the next day. I was very happy with the result and will definitely go again. They were half the price of another hairdresser's I was considering.
Just to say that they open at 11.00 a.m. - 6.00 and are now known as Studio 88 near Lothair Road.

Glad to see your recommendation, Louisa. I've been going there regularly since they opened and have been very happy, with both cut and price.
I've suggested that they advertise locally, as I got the impression they could do with more business and rely heavily on Polish clientele (which is already a good thing). I was wondering whether student discounts might attract more people, although -- as everybody has pointed out -- they are already very good value for money.
They are all very nice, not very confident about their English, but I've reassured them that they're doing absolutely fine.

Yes, well I have been recommending them for a while. They refurbished themselves last summer, which may have meant a drop off in customers as they were closed for about 8 weeks.
I think its very hard for hairdressers/barbers along Green Lanes, there is such fierce competition. However, they are different - being Polish and, therefore, deserve a chance.
