Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

N8 0SE, Harringay Rd, Harringay, London

We are 100% Harringay Gardens. Harringay Road is a N15 postcode.

I am trying to get Google maps to fix this. It's very annoying because sat navs take people to the wrong street, and every day we have vehicles driving down the road only to find it's a cul-de-sac.

Anyone got any ideas as to how I can sort this? I've submitted the issue twice to Google maps. No joy.

I've submitted an issue via Google Maps and have also reported it via Google Maps Community.

Sometimes these wrong info reports take ages to get fixed. I used to be make edits directly, including identifying and  naming whole neighbourhoods. But direct edits are now severely restricted.

Reply so far. Whether Google will respond and whether the fix will be what you need is anyone's guess!

I tried to submit this correction to Google about 3 years ago. Still waiting patiently!

They certainly seem to pick and choose what they act on.

Going via the community usually helps because you can get ‘trusted’ mappers supporting your case - which is what I hope has now happened here.

What I fear though is that we’ll see the pin location corrected but not the road name display.

I picked one of the door numbers on your street at random and corrected it on Google and just got a notification that they've fixed it.

It's rather what I feared would happen. If you read the reply of the 'Diamond' expert on Google (above), he seemed to have only taken on board the post code marker issue and not the rest of it. So, he got a fix for that only. I've flagged the residual issue, now, cross your fingers and touch wood.

Got the following reply. I'l leave you to follwo this up, Neil. Let me know if it's still not fixed and I'll go back.

Google haven't informed me yet that they've finished with this escalation, and I can't really chase them up until 2 weeks have passed. So, if it's still showing the wrong road name by 25th September, then please ask me to follow up then.

Now fixed:

The knowledge panel is now showing the correct road name - please let me know if there are any further problems with this issue.

Thanks

They seem to be particularly bad for post codes around here. I've corrected mine a few times, but it keeps reverting back. I've also notified them that a nearby footpath is not actually a road and has bollards prohibiting car entry, but as mopeds use it as a short cut their algorithm sees it being used and so marks it as a road again. Actually, that seems to be the trigger for the postcode changing back - clearly I'm not a trusted mapper

Our house used to be in the right place on google maps, then suddenly they moved it to the neighbouring street. I've asked for it to be corrected 5 or so times - finally they did move it back to our street but to the wrong house! Our deliveries going all over the place as delivery drivers rely on this info. Am at a loss as to why at some point they decided to 'fix' the address location and move it to the wrong street after it's been correct for years...

Not sure that I understand your issue. As an admin, I can see the postcode on your page (not visible to anyone else). It seems to locate to the correct street.
