1395 "well informed members of the electorate" voted for James Ryan.

1,683 voted for Gina...

We never get the split votes do we...because we all get three votes in a council election, why aren't these published?
Because the count would take forever!
Imagine there are 5 main parties each standing a single candidate and you can tick up to three boxes. So the votes to be recorded would be 0 - where you didn't chose one of the options and then candidates 1-5. So the possible combinations you would need to count and publish would be
001
002
003
004
005
012
013
014
015
123
124
125
234
245
And so on and so on.
This is the simplest combination.
Now imagine it's an election where you have three seats, 5 main parties standing each with 3 candidates. The possible combinations of that are mind boggling.
I've got the 2010 split vote, it's kind of unofficial, the officials get bored, and it is kind of interesting
Wow, a medieval candidate! Hope he doesn't eat prawns, touch owls, have a tattoo or wear clothes with mixed fabrics - the latter of course being a crime against fashion.
Oh, I touched an Owl is that bad, are Kookaburras ok?
It does seem to Babyl on...
