Friends of Finsbury Park - Meeting Tonight about Wireless Festival

Tonight the Friends of Finsbury Park will be having an Extraordinary General Meeting to provide an update on the latest position the the Friends' proposed legal challenge to Haringey Council over their hosting of major events such as Wireless in Finsbury Park.

The first agenda item will be the following emergency motion:

‘We endorse the Management Committee decision to initiate legal proceedings challenging the lawfulness of Haringey Council’s hosting of major events such as Wireless in Finsbury Park’.

The Friends say, "We consider that this is a major opportunity to challenge the creeping privatisation of our Parks and, in particular, the enclosure of a major part of Finsbury Park behind high metal barriers for many weeks at the height of summer".
