Free Haringey heritage walk on Wednesday 14 June 11am The Lea and Markfield Park

Free Haringey heritage walk on Wednesday 14 June 11am The Lea and Markfield Park
The walk on 14th June starts outside Tottenham Hale tube station at 11am.
It will be examining the importance of the River Lea in bringing water, dealing with sewage and supporting industries such as furniture making.
It is a lovely walk canal side, ending in Markfield Park where the famous Beam Engine and Engine house is situated. You will see ducks, canal boats and the occasional rower on the water. Midweek the canal is quiet in terms of cycles.
If you have a Freedom Pass you can access WCs on the rail station platform at Tottenham Hale and there are WCs in Markfield Park which has a lovely cafe. From Markfield it is a short walk to Broad Lane where you can catch buses to Tottenham Hale or to Seven Sisters for the tube or the 41 will take you back to Crouch End.
