Okay, I *know* the collections are all over the place, which is proof that the system isn't working. No one wants to have bins parked by the front gate every day on the off chance that the bin truck might come that day. However, if by now you're thoroughly confused, you can check the days (in theory) when your bins are due to be emptied on the Veolia website with the post code search.
Now, as far as I'm concerned, until this schedule is adhered to, the system isn't working. What bothers me is that it started to go wrong before the change over and has not been corrected since.
Tonight I have put my bins out according to the schedule only with two weeks worth of food waste, since they didn't empty that last week. *If* the system is settling, then I should have 4 empty bins by the end of tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Quite! My bins have been out all day today - our day is Thursday -and are still full. For the past three weeks, the collection has been a day late. It's a shambles.
It's particularly shambolic since there was a pilot scheme (you know, where you can try these things out and iron out the problems before you roll it out on a larger scale), and yet it all went ahead anyway.
After 2 emails and 4 phone calls over 4 weeks I *still* haven't received the smaller recycling bin I requested. Every time I'm promised that they'll ask the despatch manager to treat it as a high priority request. Ludicrous!
We've not yet received our smaller 120l green bin yet either, has anyone got theirs? Phoning up last week they said it'd be here by yesterday at the latest, today they're saying by next Wednesday at the latest. They did still collect the recycling from the old boxes this week though.
I called them again today (5th time!) and for the first time I got through to a very helpful woman called Kathleen who rang me back to promise me it'll be delivered by Wednesday. She said she'd ring me back too on Weds to ensure I'd received it. So fingers crossed there.
Finally! New 120L recycling bin delivered about 5pm. Very glad I went for this size as it's much more sensible for a week's worth of recycling. Just got to hope it gets emptied now...
On Seymour Road the black bins have been emptied this morning as usual. No sign of recycle collection yet though. I am not surprised though as they will now have to navigate every wheelie bin out on to the road even though there might only be the amount the of material the old boxes held in them.
Reluctanctly I have to agree that the system is not working. There is A LOT of rubbish around the place. A LOT. On my road a run of houses do not have dry waste bins at all, therefore there are overflowing black bins all over the pavement which have been there for at least a week. It smells.
In my case I would have no problem with my household waste being collected every two weeks. I could also scrunch all my recycle material in the old box. Now though the powers that be dictate that I have to have a big wheelie bin. I presume there are many others like me.
17.05 and only 1 of my 4 bins has been emptied. Saturday collection is now becoming the norm (assuming that they come tomorrow)
Our normal waste was taken this morning, but recycling hadn't by the time I left the house at 9.15. I just looked up on the Veolia site when our bins are supposed to be collected, for my own amusement - I actually know already, which is just as well because when I put my postcode in, it tells me "Sorry but we could not get the post code information. Please try again later." Useless.
