My daughter needs an emergency electrician for a complete power failure in her flat. has anyone tried the company that advertise here on HoL called Your Local Engineers?

Just checking- has your daughter checked 1/ that no-one else has power failure in the vacinity? 2/ that the fuse box hasn't been tripped?
Haven't tried 'your local engineers' but can recomend Ed Gravett 07903324438, though not sure if anyone would turn out on a Sunday evening.

strangely some flats i teh building were unaffected but it is indeed a substation fault i'll keep Ed in mind for the future though.

Normally the feed from the local substation is three phase - put simply, there are three cables running along the street and to balance the load the properties on that supply are divided up evenly between them. Therefore if one of the cables stops working, only about a third of the houses [or flats] will lose power.
