The curse of 13-15 goes on!
it looks like the Dogtas UK stores may be franchised to the Acil’s. I wonder if this spells the end of Dogtas UK or just this outlet.
Get it back to the queens head I say.
It's not that shop that this relates to. It's the shop on the corner of Salisbury Road with Green Lanes. I think that's right....
The furniture they had was (in my personal view) ugly and over-sized. I don't think there is any genuine demand for a household furniture shop there (although a new one opened recently on the other side of Green Lanes, a bit further north). It would be good to see it revert to a grocer/greengrocer - anything but yet another double-front restaurant. They always seemed to me good value when they were selling food.
Yes, I saw it last week and I did wonder how they would get any buyers for any of what was clearly tat that they had in there.
But how did they manage to keep it as a 'three-front' shop, when that was ruled illegal by the planning department? Surely they should have restored the dividing wall?
I can't help wondering if this is some elaborate scam to get round the planning decision by proving some kind of habitual use of the building as it is. Who is it that actually owns the property?
What was judged to be non-permissible was a three premises restaurant. That is contrary to a Haringey policy relating to Harringay’s Green Lanes. The aim of it is to protect retail provision on our high street. There is no policy which limits the size of retail outlets.
You wonder if they ever paid any rent at all....they were only open a few months and must have had set up costs.
Rinse and repeat
Netflix need to make a spinoff Ozark Tv series- set in Green Lanes
You won’t believe how many times I have thought this. Look at Mezzo - double fronted newly refurbished establishment with what appears to be at least 2 full time staff at all times, all matter of running cost and no more than a handful of customers at the busiest of times.
