Ya waat? Apparently they were asking for money for "the church". See video here.

Hannah Smeaton They were hanging around The World's End in Finsbury Park on Friday night. I think they were filming a sketch show.

This is just so WRANG. Everyone knows nuns should have roller skates on.
Which reminds me - who were those nuns in The Wedding, walking down the aisle after the Archbishop et al? One was tall and skinny, one short and stout and they were wearing grey habits. I didn't think they had nuns in the C of E...
Yes, Maddy, there are Anglican Orders of nuns. One or two sisters attend St Paul's here on Wightman Road. Both the 'Wedding nuns' are part of the Abbey chaplaincy. One at least of them takes a leading part in some Abbey services, including preaching. You may have noticed one of them wearing trainers, but not roller skates. Don't know whether they're into dancing. At least their grey habits were more in keeping with the Abbey than some of the more crazy fashions among the guests. (Not, of course, that my republican principles would allow me to watch such outmoded rubbish!)
Does anyone here know if nuns are affected by the burka ban in France ? i always wondered why there was a distinction between christain and muslim veils (becoming a nun is called 'taking the veil'). What happens with christian brides wearing veils in France ? I'm confused.

Thanks, OAE, any excuse to introduce the latest mass revolutionary movement - first person to identify which TWO memes are brought together here, gets to wear the Unrestrained Smugness  Of The Day badge.

After Hogarth: 'Cool head Etiquette a la mode for real time Snuff Movie watching in Pennsylvania Ave home cinema.'

Sacred ground this, where Kennedys enjoyed the Bay of Pigs, shafted Khruschev, shared Marilyn a la Monroe Doctrine; Nixon got his tapes tangled; Carter bowed to the Ayatollah; B-Movie Reagan ran his Contras; someone else watched Black hawk down; and Hilary's man hilariously but allegedly didn't inhale his cigar. Does Hilary's hand-over-mouth gesture recall all of that?

The bizarre head gear is that worn by Princess Eugenie at the Kate and Wills wedding on 5 May.  The photo of certain US notables purports to show them watching as several Mme bin Ladens are widowed.  Whether either of these is a meme and why I leave to those better qualified to judge.

Here you go.

I'm obliged to you.
What needs to be added is that Princess Eugenie's showstopper was only one of 36 millinery monstrosities perpetrated upon the gullible royals by Galway mad hatter Philip Treacy. Just another instance of Irish having a laugh at their old oppressors. English humour indeed, Laurence!
Love the English Humour, I miss it so much
