Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I have long said that the only thing GL is missing (and I mean really missing) is a good curry house. We have Jashan at Turnpike Lane, and it is a worthy curry house- even when the schlep up there is considered, but nothing at this end of the Ladder.

So, I was intrigued to see the following planning application noted in the recent LCSP minutes:

473 Green Lanes, N4

-          Permission has been granted for change of use from A1 (formerly used as storage for the adjacent Raise My Voice charity shop) to A3 (Indian Restaurant).

So, are we about to see a curry house on the southern end? Be still my beating heart!!!

Certainly did not meant to be disparaging Jonny. We love Jashan! And while I love brick Lane too, it is a world away for sure!!!

Someone mentioned this on HoL a few months back. I wondered what had happened about it.

I think that was based in the old Garden Ladder premises. I was chatting with Dipesh and his brother yesterday and they're currently thinking through their menu for Brouhaha. Current thinking is for a tapas/dim sum small eats style menu which may well include indian themed food.

Dim sum on green lanes would be HEAVEN

I also heard rumours from one of the GL traders (not an official of the Harringay Traders' Assoc) that one of the owners in Grand Parade is thinking of changing his business to a Fish and Chips shop. I won't say who lest I damage his business.

Hmm.. Off-topic a bit methinks! Although good to see Dipesh getting another name-check on here.....
;-)
Anyway, can I please - again - implore you good people to give Jashan a pass just for once and try the utterly superb and infinitely more authentic Paradise next door?..
Don't know. But it's opposite the Tollgate. Fresh naan bread cooked while you wait .. Mmmmm

Another vote for Crepanini, good food, very reasonable, love the decor, helpful staff. Brave effort to offer something different. But most times I went in was the only customer, so was braced for closure. Justin I think your comments are a bit mean-spirited.

Don't mean to be mean, but my experience was not great... I do not normally slag places off for the joy of it, so I am glad others have had a god experience. Like I said, maybe I went on the wrong day. In fact, I should check we are talking about the same place, next to the Salisbury, yes?

I'm afraid we didn't have a great time either - the staff were lovely but they only seemed to be able to cook one pancake at a time so our meal took a long time to come, and for me was really over-salted.

I'll be really pleased if it is an Indian - I miss the one that preceded the Garden Ladder.
You tried The Paramount at Wood Green?
