A rainbow flag is flying over Haringey Civic Centre today marking the first day that gay couples have been able to register their weddings.
A couple who went to the Civic Centre today to deliver their Notice of Marriage tweeted out this picture
Haringey's first equal weddings will take place - as in many other parts of the country - on the day they become legal: 29 March - so registration has to be completed today.
Haringey's Twitter stream reported that Haringey's first gay marriage will also be one of the first same-sex weddings for an Asian couple which they described as exciting and ground breaking.
Congratulations to anyone planning their wedding on 29 March (and indeed after it)!
Oooh I do love a wedding.
Plus thanks to a quirk in English Law, on the stroke of midnight last night, those people who got wed overseas finally get their marriages recognised as legal in the UK.

And it even turns out we will all be able to watch it...they are broadcasting it on Channel 4 with Stephen Fry!
Yes they are - and I'm a guest!

Can't wait to see it...will set the Tivo to record.
Have a great time, it sounds like it will be spectacular!! Congrats to the happy couple
Good on the couple for being the first to take advantage of this new opportunity/law. And well done to Haringey for flying the rainbow flag! I hope they have a happy life together.
Congratulations to the newly weds to be! Haringey has a large LGBT community and it is going to be good to see so many more same sex marriages.
