When the snow stops we have 18 snow shovels dotted about the ladder for clearing snow from the passage and possibly pavements. Half of them are in the magic storage shed at North Harringay School. I've not been well the past two days so was hoping to stay inside warm but do we have any volunteers, other than the people who have shovels already?
16:09 Falkland centre if you don’t already have a shovel.
OK, it's all done. A few more people to help next time would be good. If there were 9 of us it would have been done in 25 minutes and we could have spent the other hour and a half in the pub! Don't be shy!
Thank you for doing this John.
Any ideas as to why the council didn't do any gritting of roads or pavements? I know the forecast changed for London overnight but I'm wondering if they will do anything tonight or tomorrow morning.
I think they got surprised by the weather. Certainly I could have not done anything last night and all would have been OK this morning because it's rained but it's still very cold for rain.
Thanks for organising this John. Sorry we couldn't help but we spent most of the day trying to get home from Northampton and stuck on the M1!
Hi, I wasn’t aware of the communal shovels so did our section myself. All felt a bit pointless when I woke up this morning though.
If you have room for a shovel in your shed or wherever I can get you one. Yes it does all seem pointless this morning but I have been waiting more than FIVE YEARS to do it with those nice new shovels.
Back in Michigan we'd need to see another 6 inches before the snow plowers would even think about coming out.
Per my 20 years in London, we get a snow like yesterday every 2 or 3 winters.
Is my recollection off?: Has it really been 5 years since there has been any snow that stayed on the ground in North London?
