Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I have been sent a CD of Diagnostic imaging but can’t see or upload contents as I have no CD reader and don’t know anyone who has.

Does anyone know where I can go to get the contents transferred to a USB stick and get a few hard copies at the same time?

Thanks

Hi Mags, Snappysnaps in Wood Green scan and save photos onto CDs so they'll probably be able to do what you want, their number is in the link.

Thanks EMC2

i went this am, the Assistant there was super helpful and tried her best but could not do it

Password needed and I wasn’t given one.

So yes, they can do this but not for me today until I get a Password.

Thanks again for the heads up

Mags

Any ( most ) computers have a CD drive and could transfer to USB stick.

Thanks John D

It seems I need a Password.

That aside, my laptop doesn’t have a CD drive and the same goes for those in my work place.

I think I’ll bat this back to my GP Practice who sent me for the Scan, got a written report but did not request the images and told me I should ask for them directly from the Diagnostic Centre myself.

Thanks for taking the time to reply

You're welcome. Good luck.

Alas, no more.... I’m just upgrading my iMac and very much regret the loss of the built-in CD player in my superseded 2011 model. I know Apple are particularly manic about wifi connections instead of hard-wired ones, but I think other manufacturers are following suit.

Diagnostic DVDs (probably not a CD but of course they look the same) do not run on Macs anyway, they will run on a PC and PCs usually have a DVD reader attached to allow software loading.  Macs do it all on line - you can get a DVD reader for a Mac and it will read DVDs but the problem is the software used by medical departments.  As a side issue DVDs will probably disappear soon, in Germany there is a petition to keep manufacturing Blue Ray DVDs as there they are being discontinued...

Mags, I have a portable CD reader (it plugs into your laptop or computer’s USB port) that you can borrow once you get the password issue settled if you like.  I’m on Warham.

That’s really kind of you Michael, I may take you up on that but will see how I get on with persuading my GP Practice to get the images.

Many Thanks

Mags
