Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This Thread is a 'Sticky' thread acting as a central exchange for Cat Sitting

Hello all

I'm not sure how this would work or if anyone would be interested but here goes......

I have 2 cats and I live on the southern end of the ladder. I would be more than happy to cat sit for others in the area and would love it if someone could return the favour for me from time to time.

I am CRB checked and have looked after animals, and cats, all my life. I also have family members and friends who are vets and vet nurses.

Would there be some way of making a little local cat sitting group?

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Cheers!
Sally

Thank you both so much. Would be great if one of you could help I've sent connection requests. We've had a rough week and we're meant to be going to a festival - I don't think the gods want us to too though. My daughter broke her leg last week and our car got written off today parked on the side of the road!

You also have an offer from @GeorgeMacD on Twitter who can't sign in to his HoL AC. He suggested that you DM him on Twitter.

Hi all!

I have some availability for pet sitting from now until the end of the year. I have many years experience caring for both cats and dogs, and I can offer anything from a single one-off visit to providing a live-in service if your pets are used to having more company around and/or if you're going away for a few days (with additional tasks such as watering plants if needed!) I'm based in N4 and have flexibility that can include weekdays and weekends, and references available on request.

Please feel free to message me for more information!

Hi Sharon

What is your availability like between 20-27 Dec? I'm also in N4. Feel free to message; have sent a request.

Tim

Hi All,

I have 3 cats of my own, live in N4 on the ladders and would love to join a cat sitting group.  I work from home a lot and am happy to look after other cats in return for the same.

Is there an actual group that has been set up for this?  If not, I don't mind setting one up so there is an actual closed database of trustworthy cat lovers that only those who actually join the group can have access to.

If that's of interest please let me know and I'll set up a meeting for all perspective members so we can initially meet face to face and get this started.

Thanks!

Shirley

Just wanted to add my personal recommendation to David Blackwell's post above.  He is indeed cat sitting for us at our home on the ladders.  And I have to say he is brilliant! I've never had a cat sitter stay in our house before and I now know what I was missing.

We have 3 cats and one got upset when we left.  She went off her food the first day and I was so thankful that David was there. After much love and trying various methods, David was able to get her to eat normally after a few days of hand feeding.  He kept me informed the entire time through texts, calls and videos to lessen my anxiety.  That earnestness is worth it's weight in gold!

David grew up with a cat so he knows about them and their behaviour.  I can completely vouch for his honesty, trustworthiness and intelligence.  I first met him at his job and after seeing him handle a difficult situation with calmness and ease, and knowing his background, I was sure I could trust him with my home and my precious cats.

There is another cat sitter on this thread, (Steve King), whom I've spoken to and am also sure is fantastic, as he has many recommendations.  I wouldn't hesitate to have him cat sit for me, either.

But as there are so many of us who need this service, I encouraged David to post on this thread so that we could all benefit.  I've already introduced him to my friends that live on the ladders so they're now going to use him when they leave on holiday.

Please contact me if you need any more information or if you would like to speak to me personally about David.  Neither myself nor my partner would hesitate to enthusiastically recommend him as a cat sitter/house sitter.  I will be asking him to cat sit for us as much as possible from now on.

Cheers!

Wondered if anyone in the group has advice on an issue I posted in the main site?
http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/cat-care-query

I live at the last road on the ladder before the railway bridge and have just adopted a cat after many years-previously always had two cats. Would be delighted to set up an exchange help system. Judy

Hi Judy I've sent you a private message about this
