Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This morning (Sat) there was a grey and white cat dead in Lakefield Road, just off Westbury Avenue towards Noel Park. It appeared to me that it had been killed deliberately by a person - I really do not want to write details

I called 101 and reported this - although unfortunately, in my confusion I have a wrong street name. The police also advised me to contact the Council - which I did, with the correct street name.

If anyone is missing a pet with this description - I am really sorry

I can't see that link as I don't have a facebook account to log in with, but this seems to work without logging in. There appears to have been one in Finchley, so clearly not confined to south london area.

HI Liz

Have you contacted SNARL with details? I can't PM you without us being friends but would you be able to message me the details if you haven't and I can pass them on to Tony and Boudicca from SNARL.

Lizzie please call or text 07961 030064 thank you, Snarl can be reached on that number and they asked me to tell you to contact them

This is really horrible :-( Can you please tell if the cat was looking like the one on the picture? It's a missing cat.

Ella, I have been advised by the owner that Pippi in the photo has now been found.

Veolia emailed to confirm that they picked up the body, are checking for a chip and will contact the owner if one is found

If possible, Liz, please give SNARL a call to give them the details for their records. Stokey Cats and Dogs have sent them a link to this post on facebook, but I expect it would help SNARL to hear from you direct in respect of the injuries as they are recording all possible data.

If you can, please find out from Veolia whether the cat was microchipped.

It must have been an awful experience for you all this, but thanks for letting us know as it's really important.

I always advise cat owners to lock cat flaps at night and keep cats safe inside at night as this reduces the risk of cats getting lost or injured. Also, make sure they don't have access to a road as that leads to a risk of getting injured by a car. Always get cats neutered and microchipped.

Jesus...That's a terrible story.

the hell is wrong with some people? To be honest PETA states (before you all start spouting off about how cruel this sounds) that really cats should not be allowed outside - they are a detriment to the natural order of things RE: plants and animals (One of the only animals that kill for fun and not food). They can catch cat AIDS and are the mercy of weak idiots like the one posted above....House cats on average live longer as well.

Check this pout RE: cats and nature

That link doesn't work I'm afraid

Mnn thats strange - if you copy and paste it it works ok but yes you are right clicking from here leads to a 404.

If you follow that logic then humans shouldn't be allowed out either ;-)

I keep my cat in except for when he follows me out into the garden and he usually follows me straight back in. Although there was an amusing incident last summer when he wouldn't come in at night due to the sweltering heat and chose to cool off by laying in the long grass next door & one of the students living there caught me out in the garden in my nightie leaning over their fence whispering "come on in Big Boy" :-/
