Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi there,

I'm doing a bit of research about summertime and sunbathing music. i.e. getting people to quote their favourite tune, tunes or albums, etc, to listen to when getting a roasting.

Not necessarily songs on a summertime theme, though that is fun. Trying to get an idea of what people really listen to, i.e., what do you put on under the sun apart from lotion? Something significant, favourite or perhaps the last thing you listened to when soaking up the rays, whether at the lido, on holiday, pool, sea or pond-side.

Please say if you are a Park Road lido user as this gives the angle some focus.

Many thanks,

Kicking off with Lana Del Ray - non Park Rd user :)
Summer Breeze - Isley Brothers
The Tide is High - Blondie
Itchycoo Park - Small Faces
The whole of Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

What is the aim of your research ?

Not dissing it or being negative - just would like to know

John D is a little shy on contributing his fav tune. Reckon John would be up for 'New River Train' (starts 15 sec in);

Very nice Dave. Thanks for that

( any Blondie track or album btw and I use the Lido  )

Definitely the best song ever especially when you fast forward to 3.45

A little frantic for the back stroke James :)

Mine is Macka B - Natural Suntan

Got to be On A Beach by Richard Ashcroft from Alone With Everybody. Nothing touches it for lying back in the sun and dreaming of Hellenic islands...BTW I do use Park Road - roughly once a year
My favourite ever summer tune is Arab Strap's Hey! Fever. A slow burner, good for sitting on sun-scorched grass and having a few beers. Not a lido user but planning to go!
