Cake Stall on Beresford Road
I don't know who's responsible for it, but I'd just like to say to the person who puts out the home-made cakes honesty box on Beresford Road at the weekends - your chocolate brownie and plum crumble cakes today were absolutely delicious. And, at just £1 each, an absolute bargain. Only wish we'd had more change with us.
Thank you for another of Harringay's delightful foodie surprises.

Right by the passage, south west side of the road (the one with the blue garage). I'm guessing it's the owners of no.70 itself. I've only ever seen it at the weekend.

I think this indiscriminate use of honesty boxes is going to be bad for the economy. How are young people going to get those sought after retail jobs if people just walk into shops and pay the correct money?
I don't think you should be encouraging this type of behaviour, as laudable as you might think cheap cakes are.

Can you imagine what would happen to the economy and young people if honesty boxes became acceptable? I am boycotting Laura's cakes until she employs a young person on at least the minimum wage. One pound per cake is tantamount to a gift based economy. When she expands don't be surprised if you're asked to help out collecting the honesty boxes in Kentish Town or Bromley.

Indeed. People paying the correct price and taking only what they've paid for without supervision. The world's gone mad. I wonder when Tesco will start using honesty tills and do away with that annoying security man

The security man and everyone but the shelf stockers. This expectation of honesty must be nipped in the bud. Where is a psychopath when you need one?
