Buy your own pothole

First we had pothole gardens, now a German village has come up with an idea to sell its holes in the road. For a bargain £68, you can buy a pothole, the authorities repair it and put a personal message on top. Some potholes have already been snapped up by television channels and newspapers wanting to advertise.

Germany's recent spell of severe and prolonged winter weather has left their roads crumbling and the recession has meant there aren't enough euros to repair them.
