Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On November 9th 1954 the Edinburgh train out of King's Cross was held up by bullocks on the line.

Where had they come from?

The Harringay cattle dock, according to the Manchester Guardian. Where was that then?

I wondered that when I came across this article on one of my trawls back in 2007. Would be interested to find out.

Lots of similar old Harringay newspaper articles here.

" I think i recall that there was some wooden cattle pens beside the up goods line at Harringay West station up to the early 1970s. "

Ack to " Micky" on LNER Encyclopaedia website.

That sounds like it could be the answer to my question!
