The grade 2 listed toilet on philip lane nobody knows what to do with it. Some work is about to be done on the outside. I firm I used to work for in my TOTTENHAM metal craft restored the extremely beautiful gate and railings. (Fantastic work lads) our other listed toilet at the high cross doing and looking good. Shame that the spurs stadium has been delayed. Massive foot fall. They know its coming though. I'd love to have a look inside the bruce grove 1920s one. Apparently it runs under the main road a bit.

Ah, yes Metal Craft - www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/local-firm-helps-in-restoratio....
You used to work there?
Hi hugh. Yes I did used to work there. Did a lot of work for English heritage. Knocking it down soon. All of its going. From wicks to the bridge st anns.
Here's an extract from the latest BG Residents' Network circular that mentions the Listed BG loos and other positive plans for the area.
If you are local to BG why not join the BGRN? Loads of good networking +++ going on there.
"Presentation from Lily Kwong (Haringey Council)
Lily gave a very interesting presentation on the Council’s bid for GLA funding for redeveloping a number of areas in and around the High Road. The overall scheme has a number of sub-projects, among them Pride in the High Road, Morrisons Yard development, BG station forecourt development and the Last Elm Toilet refurbishment supported by Geraldine and BGRN.
Regarding the public toilets DKCM architects have produced a design scheme for this grade 2 listed site, and the aim is to bring a viable business to the building. Because the work will be a very expensive refurb, the Council are seeking GLA funding first. A stage 1 application has been submitted in July and work is now underway with the next stage. A decision about funding should come in January."
Thanks for that bit of info jj b. I appreciate it.
