Hi there,
I am moving back to the motherland and have around 15 books in French that I won't be taking with me.
Charity shops don't want them and I'd hate to throw them away. Are there any Francophiles out there who would like to have them?
These include :
- travel guides to Istanbul and Brazil
- a few essays on various topics (globalisation, sociology, resilience after trauma, mostly lefty topics )
- some novels, such as La vie devant soi (Émile Ajar), Alabama songs (Gilles Leroy), Orgasme à Moscou (Edgar Hislenrath) and a couple of crime stories.
PM me for more details. I live in the Noel Park area.
Cheers,
Pauline
Can you get them to one of the CalAid collections? They are asking for books in non-English languages, I'd think French would be one of them. There's quite an organised library now at Calais from all reports. The next drop to the Dalston depot is on 20th September. Is anyone doing a local HoL collection?
Thanks for the tip, Pamish. I think the 20/09 collection is in Slough this time, not in Dalston. And they need very specific items, which doesn't include books.
I'll try the big green bookshop in Wood Green, I think they are organising something as well.
Any other idea is welcome. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Bonjour Pauline,
Je serais intéresser de te débarasser de ces livres...
Tiffany
There's a French Circle in Highgate who'd probably like any left over.
