I'm looking forward to all the cheap not for profit food. ;)
Let's hope the party doesn't finish without an apology and suddenly disappear like threads around here
sometimes. X

Sharon, the only things that "go" are those that get taken down by the poster (or the poster asks us to take down) and those that break the rules which are publicly set out. Some accuse us of being too laissez faire; a few say the opposite. There's nothing mysterious. If you have a concern about something, ask a simple open question and I'll give you a simple open answer.
I'm afraid you're going to have to explain - I have no idea what you mean (being wrong and fairly rude that is)
A thread deleted by the owner in the wee small hours... I think we should probably just let "things said in the pub" stay in the pub ;)
I'm doing a not for profit party in Finsbury Park this afternoon. Nobody will have to provide parking permits, food or booze, we are just going to park where we like and steal from the cafe. Is that the kind of party you'd like FPR? Organising something a little more structured takes a bit more effort.
I rang the council with a similar enquiry and was told to try to buy some from neighbours by Chris. I pointed out to him that they are stamped "not to be resold" but he said that wouldn't be a problem.
Next time the Arctic Monkeys descend on us for a very long weekend I'm going to make a killing by flogging all my concessionary half-price Visitor Permits for a modest £20 a day. Remember, the Wightman Warham to Alroy Stretch is my turf. Imitators, be warned and stay out.
[Ah yes, folks, be nice to old OAE and cut him some slack. He's a well-meaning old cove and doesn't really do anyone too much harm. He needs the few quid.]
List of groups/people not involved but as far as I know asked to help in organising the Harringay Bloc Party:
Or you can just shrug as the old curmudgeon moans ever on in clever prose...
Everyone was getting their knickers in a twist about this 'trading' nonsense. As far as I could see a fellow member of this community was getting off her arse in order to create some social capital. Social capital that would likely benefit many of us, including those more happy to moan thank actively engage. At the same time she was effectively accused of creating an illegal market in a new secondary traded commodity- a CPZ A car parking permit. What was actually happening was a transaction (at face value- with no profit potential), because she was advised to by a council officer. How often do we see folks here asking for a permit here and there?
I think Jessica should have been a bit more straight about her intended use, but a lot of you were quick to take a contrary position, even though you could have done the same maths I did to work out their intended use. But, that would not be any fun would it?
