Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

These people are particularly persistent. I've had several of these messages, on 2 different email accounts.

They claim to be dpd (though they write DPD) and visually it looks quite genuine but they're not! They wouldn't know your email(s) and they wouldn't be asking for money to redeliver a parcel. Here's a link (a genuine one!) to read more about this scam.

Thank you Ruth for this information-so easy to be taken in.

Regards

Deborah

Especially when they have the logo and pics from the DPD website! Keep safe Deborah

This seems to be so widespread that I got a warning from my bank about it.  A variant is one claiming to be from Royal Mail

Oh dear, I guess they are pushing hard before Xmas to fool as many people as possible.

There was a second when I was going to tap on the fraudulent link and then thought “How would Royal Mail know my email address?”

If you're not addressed by name in the email itself its almost certainly a scam of some kind.

Its about the most obvious thing to check for.

Exactly. Plus they use your email address and in most circumstances a parcel company wouldn't have that. If you send a parcel, you don't normally give the email address of the recipient. (Not in my experience anyway.)

This DPD one caught out two friends of mine,  luckily they realised early enough and contacted their banks but lots of hassle.
