If you are going to be away for the elections or can't get to the polling booth, you can apply for a postal or proxy vote.

I started a new thread with this but it seems more sensible to put it here.

Has anyone any idea as to how efficient the Postal Voting will be for the Euro Elections?
There is not much time for the list of candidates to be circulated and probably a large volume of voters applying.
Thanks
Keith

Thank you for the reply.

The Candidates List does not seem to have reached the Returning Officer yet.

I received a letter telling me my application had been approved then another one telling me that they would send the voting form out around the 17th May to be returned by 10.00pm. on the 23rd.

If I have not received it by then (the 23rd) there is a telephone number to ring!

The point of having a Postal Vote is so you can vote in ones absence. I will be away from the whole of that week including the 17th so can anyone advise me on how to get a usable Postal Vote?

Surely it is not unusual to take a week or more's holiday but the Council do not seem to understand that.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks.
