BHS is in the process of liquidation nationwide, not that it helps the high road. People are going away from bricks and morter and shopping online.
In my opinion, the only thing that's going to save the high road is to create a shopping atmosphere that can't be replicated online: make it easier for independant businesses, create a community-centred base and impose an Article 4 directive on the high road so the council can stop the clustering of betting shops and put some planning measures in place to improve the variety and quality of retail.
