Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

With the lighter evenings I decided to risk the mud and wander down the New River from Hornsey Station to Wightman Road with some smalls in tow. I was pleasantly surprised at how spruce this part of the River is looking.

All the graffiti has been painted over on the walls and there was very little litter, as you can see from this photo.

The overgrown areas have been tamed and the weird reed and beer can arrangements by the water's edge have been removed.

Despite the mud which became positively Glasto-like on the far side of the bridge, it really was a lovely evening for walking, poking sticks in puddles and stopping to admire the sights of Wightman Road (aka Byzantium North) then heading over Pooh Sticks Bridge, across Pallet Creek, looking out hopefully for The Goatman of Parkland Walk, before running home for tea.

Are you following A.A.Milne - or was that a typo for Pooh Stinks Bridge?

My ow keyboard's 'n' costatly sticks, unless I hammer it. A email to the Pricipal of my old school i Sierra Leoe the other day metioned "7 steel widow frames for the Library". No doubt the problem caused cofusion at the ext staff meetig.

When you're 7, the smells matter less than the magic...or maybe the smells are the magic. They dealt it and smelled it.

The path really does seem to have improved.  It is a pity about the short muddy stretch that you have named Pallet Creek.  This is enough to deter many walkers who fear muddy feet.  I wonder what improvements might be in view for this area.  You and your party, Liz, are welcome to ring the door bell anytime if you can't see me in the garden.
