Gordon. did you get a reply from Emine ?
Still waiting for an answer to my mail of 20th October.
No reply but no acknowledgement so it might be that my email was not received though I have had no error message. I used the correct address emine.ibrahim@haringey.gov.uk as specified on the Haringey Council website. The email read:
Alroy Rd / Endymion Rd raised junction
Emine, As you asked just now, I’m emailing you so you can update me with the Officers’ response to your Member’s question that you’re unable to post on Harringay Online. Gordon T[.....]
It is regrettable that the original 'Good News' thread has not just changed to 'Could have been better news' but has ended up, for the last four months, as 'Where is the news?'. As I wrote earlier, my aim is to encourage active councillors.
In the absence of a forthcoming reply, this HoL thread will be bookmarked on my computer as Please teacher, the dog ate my homework
Hello Gordon
This is the part of the response which is still relevant as initially there was an enquiry about times frames too which are out of date.
Here is the response we received at the time. This is out of date now for the simple reason that we now are going to have a traffic and parking review hence my delay in response because as far as I am concerned everything should be on table for a traffic and parking review. The specific issues about road space I have previously stated. However if you would like the verbatim version from an officer here it is.
As part of these proposals we did have an aspiration to install physical traffic islands, unfortunately during the detailed design stage it was found to be unfeasible due to the limited road space. However I am currently investigating additional measures to increase the effectiveness of the currently painted islands, which I intend to implement at the same time as the high friction red surfacing.
There are no plans to carry out further footway works in the Alroy Road and agree that there are a number of roads across the borough that would benefit from maintenance to improve their condition and appearance. As I am sure you will be aware however, funding for planned maintenance of our highways is limited and unfortunately does not allow us to address all locations identified through condition surveys for maintenance. We therefore have to prioritise works to locations in most need and thereby make the most effective use of the funding available for this work.
Emina. Thanks for this, I think this is certainly worth looking at as part of the Traffic Study. I will make a note of it and try to make sure it gets put on the agenda for the consultants and Steering Group to review.
