A perfect Sunday?
This Time Out list of 40 things to do in London on a Sunday might give you some ideas or you might just do like us and buy an apple pie at Adali to scoff at lunchtime often after a roast dinner courtesy of Baldwins, before taking a walk to Finsbury Park.

A game of tennis in Finsbury park followed by sunday lunch at the Garden Ladder or the Salisbury. A stroll along the New River to Alley Pally for a bit of ice skating or boating in the lake (in summer). A cycle ride along the River Lee..

Behind Ally Pally beyond the carpark and ice rink there's a deer park, boating lake with nice cafe.
On Wightman Road there's an entrance to the New River, (opposite Allison Road) brings you out towards the end of Wightman Rd onto Turnpike Lane, cross over where the Pump House is (new trendy restuarant, the New River at this point is closed to the public but will be open soon apparently, you can walk through the new housing complex to Alley Pally.

I love the boating lake, even though I tend towards crashing more than elegantly rowing.

A stroll down to the community gardens off Stanhope Gardens to enjoy some peace and quiet (and to take some pics of the fun chequers, ladybird, owl and hare!) then onto Lordship Recreation Ground to explore the conservation garden and some birdspotting. A brisk walk back upto Green Lanes for coffee and cake in Cafe Lemon. Lovely :-)

I like going to the cafe in Finsbury Park for breakfast (usually lunch) and then strolling up Parkland Walk to Highgate for a pint in the Boogaloo bar, then Crouch End on the way back. Actually i haven't done this in ages - thanks Liz for jogging my memory

Praise the Lord, Liz, for your timely Revival of this sacrosanct Sunday thread. Your reward will be great.
Since the original Time Out '40' seems to have been a bit dated before publication, let me kick off with a little local update.
Here on Wightman N4 (with St Augustine's doors shut "for good" and the Vicarless St Paul's gates firmly if indefinitely padlocked against any devout intruders) several dozen old God-botherers have taken to their beds on Sundays to sing dreamily of a Wightman Bus to ferry them towards Tollington's St Mellitus or Wood Green's St Paul's or St Michael's: "Swing low, sweet chariot / Comin' for to carry me home".
Poor old dears - it's going to take a while to wean them off their idea of a perfect Sunday morning.

Up to the kids but favourites are;
Highgate Wood, Queens Wood, Springfield Park and increasingly Alexandra Park.
All have loads to do and great cafes.
