Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Charities who take furniture and or unwanted IT or electrical equipment. Know any?

Wonder if anyone can help with this?

From time to time I get guilty and add a bit more to my wiki page about rubbish, recycling and waste management. I was thinking that often people don't want to simply throw stuff away and would like to pass it on. Unfortunately, this is fequently done by standing it in the street

Anyway, if anyone knows of any charities/groups that will collect unwanted items of furniture and electrical equipment for reconditioning, parts etc, could you drop me their info on this post so I can add it to the wiki

There's an outfit called Computer Aid International based at 433 Holloway Road (020 7281 0091) who will take IT equipment off your hands. As with any similar charity, they need to be slightly selective about what they accept, otherwise they end up being used as a waste facility and find themselves having to pay for disposal of other peoples rubbish.

ReStore collect used furniture and working electrical goods which are subsequently supplied to people in need. ReStore are based in Unit 18 Ashley Road, London, N17 9LJ, (020 8493 0900).
Have you tried Freecycle? They have mailing groups on yahoo, this the one in Haringey: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/haringey-freecycle/
Thanks for these, everyone. I'll add the info to the wiki.
NOTE: I meant to say "here the one for"... not "this the one in"... my poor English :-(
Try:
http://www.donateapc.org.uk
Which is like Freecycle but over a larger area and for charities to respond to member of the public 'donors' of IT items, as opposed to Freecycle which is for the public at large.
And:
http://www.itforcharities.co.uk/
Which is a database of organisations who take unwanted IT equipment for mainly passing onto charities.
