Randall and Vickers - Council Tax band revaluations?
I was wondering if anyone else in the area has received a mail shot from a company called Randall and Vickers about the possibility your property is in too high a council tax band and they can help get a refund and help lower your band. They imply that others on my road have been reclassified to a lower band. This is of course for a percentage of any refund obtained. I would be interested to know if anyone has actually successfully made use of their offer?

This is a scam pure and simple. Never pay anyone to get your council tax band revalued. For more information I have written about it here

I suppose Randy & Knickers must be the same lot who help Russian oligarchs of Kensington & Chelsea get their mansions reclassified from Band H to Band G. I have tried twice in the past eighteen years to have our own Wightman Road mansion reduced from Band G to an F or an E. No go. So much for going through the VOA's proper channels. I might as well have written to the Voice of America. I'd better work through my Russian in-laws. If you wonder why I'm only paying £400pa less than the owners of Chelsea and the Evening Standard, I've got a 6ft wide infill with a "garage" fit for a pushbike - hence my slightly deeper cleavage than my immediate neighbours at the front.
Talking of oligarchs, have you all signed up to Vince Cable's petition on the Mansion Tax? We've got to help them put some yellow water between themselves and their Tory bedfellows.
I'm serious though, for a change.
