Hi,
I have had a membership at Tottenham Green for decades now. I have recently been informed that the Council are introducing a new 'pricing structure' for all it's leisure centres. I have a swim only membership which costs me £26 per month. Under the new pricing system this will increase to £45 per month, (swim and gym, which is the cheapest option in the new structure). This is an increase of 73%, a huge amount which seems disproportionate. Is anyone else in a similar situation ? If so, have you taken this up with the Council ?

David, I feel your pain.
My membership at Park Rd has just gone up from £34 to £45 month, not quite as bad as your situation but still a 32% jump from the Fusion "bad old days"
Last week I asked at the reception if there was any alternative to this or a plan to introduce a swim only membership. I was told definitely not.
The staff then encouraged me to ask why? When I did, they fell about laughing chorusing "Because we're a business!" - obviously the line that had been fed down to them by the council.
So much Haringey Council being a social enterprise or wanting to support healthy living.
For comparison, a Better "swim only" membership which allows you to swim in 105 swimming pools in London is £41
