This kind of thing is dynamite. This one is criminal but if you break electoral law to win then they give it to the one who came second. If it wasn't for the party system this wouldn't matter that much but it does of course.

Just imagine, we have people prepared to flirt with the criminal justice system to get into parliament. Oh... wait.

If you must descend to muckraking, how about Labour MP Denis MacShane ?

There are bad apples in ( probably ) every party.

Yes the outcome will be decided by the CPS, but it's the handling of the situation by the Party HQ that is most telling, in cricket we teach children about playing in the spirit of the game, politics shouldn't be about fudging, but remaining ethical in representation and accountability, it's the dark arts that undermines that expectation of our politicians. Politics doesn't corrupt, I think the system is corrupted by individuals, if we are not governed by rules how can we be fit to govern.
