I am trying to find a bed to fit into a weird size box room type of space and normal lenght bed will not fit the way I want it to fit.
I tried online places but the only shorter beds they do are kids ones or singles when I want a small double but must be 185 or 180 cm long. It is not the width that is a problem but the length of the bed.
Not a bed frame as can not lose any more space for the mattress length being taken by headboard etc so I am thinking some kind of a base, divan bed type? Those are 190cm long so about 5cm too long for how I want to have it in the room. I can squeeze a 190cm mattress in but not the bed base.
Whoever converted the house my current flat is in must have been simply insane to be honest but hey, got to make it work.
Any advice?
At some point I will need to have a base built in the room for the bed - that way I could get some storage under the bed as divan type of base will kill that option and room is very awkward...but for now just want to get a ready smaller base - 185cm ideally..
Thanks a lot
Anyone had a bed base built recently please? Would it be a carpenter I would need?

Have you looked at the Kyoto bed from Taurus beds: https://www.tauruspinebeds.co.uk/beds/wooden-beds/kyoto-platform-be... doesn't have a head or foot-board so it's exactly the same measurements as the mattress - plus they do bespoke to if you need it shorter. I got one because I had an antique head a foot-board I wanted to attach and its great - you can get one that's not just a platform if you want under-bed drawers for it as well.
