Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Whats going on in the shop where Arista Foods Store was (corner of Salisbury Road and Green Lanes)

Any one know whats going to replace Arista Foods Store - saw some fancy interiors going on in the ceiling. Just wondered if anyone knew what it is going to be...

Also whats happening to the old Hawes and Curtis building... is forever going to be a car wash?

This discussion should give you a good idea.

Read the notices posted in the windows. They have apparently applied for three seperate booze and food licenses, presumably because they feel it will expedite the process. Just what we need, another ethnic restaurant, eh? Arista Foods was a good idea but they seemed to have no idea of their market and they were expensive compared with sites a mere few yards away. I like the idea of a cafe society developing in Grand Parade, but I'm not sure another triple front restaurant conforms to this ethic. But it must be where the money is, or people wouldn't do it, I guess.

The Hawes & Curtis site now offers Parking @£7/day, it's a car park.
As many restaurants as there are, (having lived in the Mansions on St Anns,) I feel with diners looking out onto Salisbury Road will make it safer. I remember a death on the passage behind Ladbroke's oposite, which left many residents feeling unnerved. I am still astonished that lighting has not been improved on that location, maybe Cllr Brabazon could answer that one historically, I'd be greatful to any of our Councilor's to take this under their wing and address improvements for Salisbury Rd, the latent traffic here is diabolical for residents.

as far as i know its going to be a restaurant anr hawes and curtis is going to be flats with maybe a new gp surgery on the bottom
Are they waiting for funding, TFL approval (re Piccadilly ventilation shaft/ structural assessment of loading of the proposed building over a Tube network,) or a development partner to take project to next step? Sometimes they just sell site with planning, so it could end up with a new outfit.

An NHS site would be welcome indeed.
Athey told me another Turkish restaraunt
Of course

Kebab suppliers will think they have died and gone to heaven.

A Turkish that looks like a ski lodge is the replacement.

Would like to see some variety on GL from the turkish, barbers coffee shop cycle that runs up the road!

We may end up with Turkish gluvine then..
Turkey is a vast country though, with many different cuisines, so we could end up with something different from the standard GL fare.
I'm not going to hold my breath though.
And here it is.... SIRA! Wandokya ?

More timber panelling inside than an alpine chalet.
