Not through Harringay, mind, but on the level straight line between York and Darlington well known for speed test runs. With a 9-coach train plus an idling class 67 diesel locomotive, so a proper load for it.

If the A1SLT get 60163's maximum speed raised to 90mph, I wonder if any other owners of main line registered class 7 & class 8 locos will attempt to follow suite?
Graeme Bunker-James from the A1 Steam Trust was interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 'Today' programme this morning (it's on iPlayer, starts about 0650). He made the point that because Tornado is all-new and the manufacturing processes are well-documented the responsible authorities can have more confidence in its resilience than in other locos where moving parts are much older. Mind you Bittern made some 90 mph tests and trips not long ago.
More coverage - BBC Lunchtime news (BBC1, 1300-1330) has a report starting about 1326 with footage from the train itself, including the moment the speedometer hit 100. I won't link to it because it will disappear off iPlayer in 24 hours.

Also look out for a new documentary programme on BBC TV "next month" - though it may be broadcast in the BBC's Yorkshire/North East area first, or only there.
