Sell up or lose home - Town hall threat to seize empty homes


Property owners who leave houses empty for six months or more should lose them, ministers said yesterday. Housing Minister Margaret Beckett wants town halls to pressure homeowners into selling or renting empty houses to make up for the slowdown in construction.

If someone wanted to leave the property empty all they would have to do is declare the property a holiday home. easy.
