Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

About 45 minutes ago a woman was walking down Green Lanes on the pavement next to Finsbury Park, she was looking at her phone. A scooter with two men came up behind her and the one on the back seized the phone and the scooter sped off heading towards the railway bridge.  Luckily for the woman the thief dropped the phone and she was able to get it back.

The two thieves were dressed in black and had black helmets, they were on a black scooter.  Possibly they were local residents.

A neighbour of mine told me that there had been a similar incident up where we live - Downhills Park Road on the Turnpike Lane end near the tube.....I think it was last week.

In the same spot I saw a cyclist attempt to take a phone on New Year's Eve
I haven't heard of this in our area yet but it is extremely common. Thieves operate in couple on a scooter or in group by bicycle. There are many reports of such events on Holloway road and surrounding. Other areas where it happens often are Camden and Upper Street.

I saw it happening twice on Tollington road opposite the Sobell Centre and in front of the Odeon on Holloway road.
I've seen people post about it here before. Manor House seems to be a real hotspot in particular.

Yep - everyone comes out of the tube station and checks their phones... they're relatively easy targets and it's easy for thieves to make a quick getaway.
