Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Found a young fella stood outside my house yesterday looking in the window. Took off as I walked outside.

A couple hours later another guy knocked first on our front window then lightly on the door. I opened it and he asked for a woman's name but kept turning his face to the street. I knew what he was up to straight away and said 'I know what you are doing'. He grumbled and retreated to a waiting car.

Realised then that there was 2 cars in convoy. Both silver BMW's. A 1 series two door and a 3 series coupe. They peeled out when I came outside to see where the bloke went.

Called 101 and let them know the rego of one of them.

I hate that term 'be vigilant', but thought I'd let HOL know. Swines.

Did they leave a pair of shoes outside?

What do you think they were up to?
A bloke comes to your door, knocks to see if anyone is home.
If you answer, ask for a random persons name and apologise when told nobody
Lives here with that name.

If nobody answers....different story.
Aha ok, I thought you were suggesting that they were looking for someone in particular, perhaps with a view to giving them a good hiding. You don't owe anyone any money?

No. And if anyone's giving a hiding it would be me

Nice one, thats what I like to hear, and thanks for highlighting this scam.  One that happened to me, lady (with 8/9 yera old child) knock on door asking if she can use phone - I said no.  Why?  Just a feeling, it just didn't look right, and I've read the one about person using phone and kid asks  "to use the loo"............................

That's definitely someone trying to get in and see if you've got anything worth breaking in for or any security etc.
