For south indian food fans:
Anjappar, is a proper Chettinad restaurant serving Tamil Nadu food. They've got a branch in East Ham and several in Chennai . Dosa, vada, idly, sambar heaven :-)

They serve veg and non-veg.
I had lunch buffet - 6 veg choices and rice - for 5.99. The sambar was excellent, and other veg dishes very well done They change the menu every day for the buffet.
p.s. the manager said they do some british 'indian' dishes as a last resort. But honestly, try Chettinad chicken pepper fry!

Went tonight, really enjoyed it. Curries excellent and a little different - one was aubergines in a peanut curry, delicious. Just one warning, table next to us ordered three dosas though which took an age because it appears they can only make one at a time. Will definitely go back though!

Any idea what has happened to this place? Last time I went past it, it appeared to be closed.
