Hi - have you told us yet what your budget priorities are for your borough? The council has lost 40% of our budget (in real terms) because of Government cuts and we want to know what you think is important before we come up with new ideas for savings.
For more information and to take part go here (closing date is November 20th) www.haringey.gov.uk/budget

That's a lovely pretty graphic of the leaflet cover, but wouldn't the questionnaire questions have been more useful? I did try to cut and paste these myself, but the layout of the web page made that rather frustrating and I gave up.
The two main questions of the questionnaire are to select your top 5 priorities, and lowest 5 priorities from a list of 22 areas ranging from libraries, customer services, children's services, adults services, public health, street cleaning/waste, housing etc. I was hard pushed to keep my own list of equally important top priorities to under 12.
Given that most of these areas are ones that the Council is statutorily obliged to provide, I really am not sure of the purpose of this anyway. I can select "Libraries" as one of my top 5, but the Council will still have to look after children in care and provide housing advice (mostly consisting of "you have no options sorry").
I would like to have seen budget figures next to these categories so we, as the general public, understand just how expensive social care and housing are as part of the overall budget.
